It’s another wonderful WipItUp Wednesday bloghop and I’ve got a fantastic snippet from May I Have this Dance for you. This scene takes place after Avit’s first dance class.
“Did you enjoy yourself?” Just’s voice sent a shiver down his spine.
“Well,” Avit said, turning and giving him a wink. “I definitely humiliated the hell out of myself.”
“I thought you did well. To get in touch with the rhythm inside, you have to let go of what constrains you.” Just smiled and shrugged. “You move well. I look forward to seeing you when you find and lose yourself inside your own rhythm.”
The words were innocuous, similar to the ones he’d used with everyone all night long. In that moment, they sounded more like a sensual promise. Avit’s breath caught at all the possibilities within that phrase.
Just stepped forward, his long, lithe body eating up the space between them quickly. When he reached him, he stopped and looked directly into Avit’s eyes. “You’ll be back next week?” he asked, his cinnamon breath coasting over Avit’s lips.
“Yes.” Every muscles twitched at their close proximity and he found himself hoping Just would kiss him.
That promising smile crooked up the edges of Just’s lips. “Would you like to go out for a drink? There’s a good bistro a couple blocks away.”
For a brief moment, Avit stilled. His reputation was everything to him. Everyone in Yakima thought he was straight, especially his family. Going out with the guy would… No. It would be fine. They were two businessmen out having a late drink. Nobody would suspect a thing. He let his lips curve into a similar smile. “I’d love to.”
Don’t forget, you can still get May I Have this Dance for the sale price of $2.99 and download today at the A Thia Thing store. The sale price is good for only a short time.
How can this be wrong when it feels more right than any relationship he’s ever had?
Avit Johan spends his days building up his business. He has no time, nor desire, to find a partner. With his brother’s wedding coming up, he makes time to update his dancing skills. Desire sizzles within him at the sight of Just Deveroux, owner of Just Dance.
Just has a good life. An ex-wife who is his best friend. Three wonderful children. And a dance studio he lives for. The only thing missing is the right partner, the man he will dance the rest of his life with. He’s begun to believe it won’t happen for him. Until he meets Avit.
Attraction explodes between them, and neither wants to step away from the flames. The problem is that Avit has hidden his bisexuality for years and has no intention of coming out of the closet.
Worried that their relationship will destroy the happiness of those they love, they break things off. By the time Avit realizes what losing Just means to him, it may be too late. It’s going to take opening his heart to everyone he cares for if he is to have any chance of winning Just back.
