It’s the council #WipItUp #UrbanFantasy #PNR #Humor

Jumps up and down. Has a party. It’s WipItUp time again!

I’ve got another snippet from A Shifter, A Vampire, & A Fae Walk Into A Bar for you. Our heroine has just been involved in an altercation between a demon, three invisible men, and a whole mess of humans. So, of course, she’s been summoned to report to the local council. The phrase “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” takes on a whole other meaning.

“Where’s the access point?”

“M&M World.”

Of course. Because what better front for the council of spirit workers than a chocolate shop. Jillian made it out to her car and had to maneuver around a few of the workers’ cars before she was able to get out onto the street. She parked at the MGM Grand and walked down the street to M&M World. A well-known secret among the spirit workers was that every building on the Strip had a portal built into it that was on no map or plan. Every few months, the council moved its base door to one of the spaces. The last time she’d been there, they were operating out of the Stratosphere.

As soon as she opened the door to M&M World, she could feel the energy and glanced around. A thin door on one side read Authorized Personnel Only. Well, she was definitely authorized. A small electronic keypad with a scanner stood to the left of the door. She placed her hand on it and felt the charge as it scanned her energy signature. Almost instantly the door clicked and she opened it and stepped inside, closing it sharply behind her. If a human were to ever gain admittance to the room, they would be confused. From the looks of things from the other side of the door, the space she was in should be about three feet wide and two feet deep. Instead, it was a large circular room with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows on all sides, each one showing a different vista, some by day, some by night.

Jillian wasn’t sure how they didn’t get a headache from it all.

“Yes?” One of the council walked over to her, a small frown on his face. Dressed in the normal council uniform of board shorts, a Ceasar’s Palace T-shirt, and a white and blue checked button down shirt that was left unbuttoned over it combined with golf shoes, they would have stood out as tourists outside of the room. Inside it, they strangely always looked as though they belonged. “Ah. Jillian Michaels. Come. You must tell us what happened.” With a nod and a hand across her mouth to stifle her yawn, she followed him to the middle of the room where an oval table sat, surrounded by sixteen chairs, each one taken by a member of the council.

“Conners says it was a nasty business,” drawled Hadley Corrington, current head of the Spirit Workers Council. He stared at her from his spot on one end of the table, his squinty eyes even more squinted as he looked at her. The eldest member of the council, he had a face filled with age lines and lips so thin she half wondered if he had lips at all.

“It was,” she replied. “A demon set on wrecking the diner.”

“And how did you turn said demon into a pile of goo?” The question was asked by the one lone female on the council, Hadley’s wife Charlotte. Her lips, unlike her husband’s, were huge poofs of chemically injected fillers. Nobody’s lips could look that huge naturally. Her gray hair was pulled back into a bun and her crow’s feet were so bad they kind of looked like highway lines on a map.

A Shifter, A Vampire, And A Fae Walk Into A Bar

In a city where nothing is unexpected, one meeting changes their lives forever.

Jillian Michaels has had some strange things happen in her life. She’s met angels and demons, fought zombies and battled Elvis’s ghost. But nothing prepares her for running into three strange men one night. She’s the only one who can see or hear them and they won’t let her out of their sight.

For 157 years, Mavik has been stuck in between due to a curse and has been looking for someone to break him out. The only problem is the witch he’s found does not want to release him from his spell. Not ready to give up, he and his companions, Casper and Brinnian, stick to Jillian like glue.

When she tries to help them, things go from bad to worse when the council over psychic and paranormal phenomena take a stance and send Mavik to another realm and her in between with Casper and Brinnian. Time is running out for Mavik and unwittingly Jillian makes a deal with a demon for his release.

With a vengeful council on their tails and love brewing between human and shifter, who knew a deal with a demon would be the least of their worries?
