With a whole slew of BDSM novels coming out this year (and week), I thought it fitting to spotlight Bane of My Existence for Backlist Monday.
Antonia has come to the BDSM club Liaisons for a job. She’s just not sure she wants to be there.
The lighting was dimmer than in the other room and she hoped she could see well-enough to fill out the forms. He picked up a pencil from the middle of the table and handed it to her. “Use this to fill everything out.” Before she could start, he pulled the piece of leather she had seen on her bed out of his pocket, wrapped it around her wrist, and tied it off. “Don’t leave the table. I’ll be back soon.”
Once he left, she felt herself start to shake a little. Where the hell were they? Who was that woman who didn’t like her? Not to mention the old guy who called her friend Master Kayle. Groaning, she looked down and started filling out the form.
The first two pages were normal application type stuff. Name, address, social security number … She filled it out and then got to something called a Limit’s List. At the very top of the page, she read the instructions.
As an employee of Liaisons, if hired, you are under no obligation to play with any member of the club. This list is so we are aware of what you will or won’t do if we catch you scening while on duty. If you are doing something that is okayed on the list, we will walk right by. Otherwise we will stop the scene immediately.
“What is scening?” she whispered as she looked down the list.
“Scening is any non-platonic play,” murmured a deep male voice from behind her. Gasping, she turned around and came face-to-face with the most interesting man she had ever seen.
She blinked and her mouth opened to say something, but her brain could not put two thoughts together. The man standing in front of her exuded power in a way she had never even considered before. It was terrifying and thrilling at the same time. At well over six feet tall, he towered over her seated form. In the dark light of the room his face was partially in shadow; but what she could see was angular and firm. His expression made her feel as if she was being examined. She swallowed hard.
Chuckling softly, he strode around the table, like a cat circling its prey, and sat down facing her. Even in the darkened room, his features stood out. High cheekbones, thin course eyebrows, short dark hair, and the most intense eyes she had ever seen. “So you are here to apply for a position.” It was not a question and she couldn’t think of anything to say so she just nodded. “Have you ever been to a fetish club before, little one?”
Bane of My Existence
About This Book
When Antonia is convinced by her friend Kayle to apply at Liaisons, a new fetish club in town, she never expects to meet Master Bane or to become his sub.
As she falls more and more for the enigmatic man two decades her senior, there is something about him that she cannot quite figure out. She can tell he is keeping something from her and even as that gulf stretches between them, she falls further and further in love with him.
When the truth comes out, can she accept it? Or is this the end?
