Happy Monday 🙂 Here’s another taste from my backlist with a snippet from Two Sides of the Same Coin. I can say this is the ultimate backlist as Two Sides of the Same Coin started out as a 10-part series (the first book I ever self-pubbed was part 1). A couple years after it was complete, I rewrote it, removed some things, added others, and ended up with this 86,000 word novel. I have a definite fondness for Blake & Dusty and hope some day they will let me continue their story. Every time I’ve asked, they tell me “one day”.
Blake has a lot of stress in his life and in this snippet, there’s only one thing that can help settle him.
This Friday was getting worse and worse. Maybe he should just go to bed and when he woke up tomorrow morning things would be better. Shaking his head, he tossed the phone aside and leaned back again. Of course he would end up going for the full week. There was no way he could hurt Theresa like that. If she thought he would be there for ten days, he would force himself to go for the full ten days. Forcing himself to his feet, he retrieved his laptop from his briefcase and pulled up his schedule for that week. Thankfully, there were only three appointments as he had already blocked off the Thursday and Friday of that week anyway. Moving everything around, he quickly marked the full week as vacation and closed the file.
Jumpy and in need of some relief, Blake did the only thing he could. Bringing up his browser, he typed in the address of the only alternative lifestyle website he frequented now and put in a request for KeepingItReal.
I hope you’re available and are in as much of a need of a session as I am. This boy needs grounding in a huge way. My family is ripping me apart at the moment.
Will be waiting,
Hoping Sir was online, Blake left the screen open and went to get some water. He wanted a beer, but knew Sir would not play with him if he was at all tipsy. When he came back to the screen, there was a response.
Good to hear from you. Log into messenger now.
Anxious, he quickly logged in, before forcing himself to relax. After six months of being in contact, he knew what he needed to do. Sir would contact him when he felt it was appropriate and Blake needed to trust in that. Sometimes that was easier than others. He had no idea what KeepingItReal looked like but that was not the point. Sir was there when he needed him. His calm assurances and firm voice were all Blake needed. A window popped up.
“blake, explain to me why you need this session.”
Blake Loughton is pretty sure his life is over at the age of forty. All he does is work, work, work, except for the few hours a week he spends online with a dominant who seems to get him. When he meets his dom in person quite by accident, it changes everything, especially when he falls in love with the man behind the online persona.
At thirty-four Dusty Brandon has been involved in his alternative lifestyle for ages, but hasn’t had a sub in years until meeting Blake online. The more he learns about him, the more he wants to take things further. Getting through Blake’s barriers uses all the knowledge he has. Bringing his boy home to Texas is going to make him get creative.
