Originally I was going to have a different blog this week, but the wonderful thing about blogland…things get twisted and turned sometimes. I’m thrilled to introduce you to Wicked Faeries Tales and Reviews!
Tell me a little about your blog – when did it start, why did you start it, how did you come up with the name?
Wicked Faerie’s Tales and Reviews started in January of 2014. I had been a part of the admin team for Paranormal Reads on Facebook and was just reviewing strictly paranormal books for them. Then I started reviewing for The Novel Approach, which I absolutely love doing. While I still loved reading Paranormal books my love for other genres was kind of being ignored review wise. Also with the changes on Facebook affecting pages and blogs, I knew it was time to start up my own blog. The name was created on a whim for the most part. I have an RP character that I’ve played for over 10 years that’s part Faerie and she’s a bit of a wicked badass so Wicked Faerie was easy. Now Tales is for my writings if I ever get brave enough to post them or start writing more again. So Wicked Faerie’s Tales and Reviews was born and has grown from all that.
How many books do you think you’ve read since your blog has started?
This is a tough one because I don’t review every book that I read. It would literally be impossible since I average about 300 books a year now. I will admit 2014 was my highest book year ever as I read 375 books including audio books and a handful of re-reads. This year is on track for about the same number to be read.
Is it just you reviewing or do you have a team of reviewers as well?
At this time it is just me doing the reviews for the blog.
Who are some of your favorite authors that you’ve read?
Oh you like asking the hard questions! Some of my favorite authors are Charlie Cochet, Piper Vaughn, Rhys Ford, Kade Boehme, Felice Stevens, Riley Hart, Sherilyn Kenyon, J.R. Ward, S.A. Welsh, Brad Boney, Lane Hayes, Tara Lain, Lissa Kassey, Sam Kadence, Cardeno C., Tess Bailey, Kristen Proby, Aurora Rose Reynolds, and Harper Sloan.
What’s your favorite book:
1) as a child – The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
2) as a teenager/young adult – This is a tie between The Rowan by Anne McCaffery and By The Sword by Mercedes Lackey
3) right now – The THIRDS series by Charlie Cochet (I can’t pick just ONE book out of this series because they are all fantastic)
I’ve got to agree with WFTR on his/her favorite books! I grew up on Narnia, loved Anne McCaffrey in my teens and am a huge fan of THIRDS by Charlie Cochet now 🙂
