It’s another beautiful Backlist Monday, and I’ve got a snippet from Took My Breath Away, book 2 in my All They Ever Needed trilogy.
In this snippet, Logan’s been away in New York and has just got home. Those few weeks away from Christian were as close to hell as he’d ever been.
“I’m home!” he called, walking into the kitchen.
“Logan!” His mother burst into the kitchen and pulled him into a hug. He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her just as tightly. “Honey, are you okay?” she asked, looking up into his eyes.
He smiled and nodded. “Yeah. It was rough, but I’m thrilled to be home.” That was when he caught the scent and inhaled. “You’ve been baking!”
Laughing, she nodded. “Of course. You’ve got cookies, and I put in a casserole, which is about done, so you three could have something to eat once you got home.” As she spoke, Christian and Gregory walked through the door. Giving Logan one last squeeze, she turned and hugged Christian, giving him a kiss on the cheek, and then hugged her husband hard, returning the kiss he gave her.
“They are incorrigible,” Logan teased, relaxing as he watched his parents and making Christian smile as he grabbed a few cookies from the platter on the kitchen island. Handing a couple to his boyfriend, he turned toward the living room. “Let’s go collapse.”
They stayed at his parents’ house all afternoon, mainly because they could tell Kimberly needed her son close for a little while. After dinner, though, Christian finally mentioned he needed to go home and Logan stood up as well. “I’ll be back tomorrow,” he assured his mom. “But I need to be with Christian tonight.”
They were quiet on the drive to Christian’s apartment and as they walked inside. One word broke the silence, and it was the only one he needed: “Logan.” The word was filled with longing so intense he felt it everywhere, and if anyone asked later, neither of them could have explained
how Logan’s left shoe ended up in the kitchen sink nor how Christian’s underwear landed hanging from the doorstop behind his bedroom door.
“I’ve missed you,” Christian whispered as he pushed Logan back onto his bed, crawling on top of him and pressing his cock up against Logan’s, making them both moan. “I never knew a bed could be so fucking lonely to sleep in until you were gone.”
“Baby, shit, you’re gonna make me cum before we even get started.”
“We have all night,” Christian reminded him, thrusting slowly. “And you are a very virile man. I’m sure with the right encouragement, you can get it up again.”
“Fuck!” Logan wrapped both legs around Christian’s hips, using his feet to lift his hips in sync with his boyfriend. “I so missed this… How the…” grunt… “hell…” grunt… “are we going to— Fuck!—be apart come fall?”
“Let’s not think about it. Cum for me, Gorgeous.”
Pulling Christian’s head closer, he kissed him roughly as he came, warm, gooey liquid squirting between them, and as Christian was shuddering too, he realized they both came at the same time. Releasing his head, Logan pushed his hair back out of his eyes. “I love you.”
“I love you, too, Honey,” Christian panted softly, pecking him lightly on the lips. Rolling the two of them to their sides, he trailed his fingers up and down Logan’s arm. “You know, before you, I was a gentleman.”
“Before me?” Logan asked in amusement.
“Mmhmm. I never had to have someone as much as I have to have you. All the time. I swear I am hornier now than I ever was as a teenager. And that’s saying something.”
“Good to know it’s mutual.” Logan kissed him, lingering over his soft lips. “What do you say we go take a nice long shower and get ready for round two?”
