Everything is Through the Library Door, you know, especially for today’s Backlist Monday snippet.
Nicholas has come through a portal into a very unique world, one several hundred years into the future.
The only sound left in the room was his breathing and hers. Nicholas had never felt anything quite like that before and he had fucked half the widows in the Ton. Leaning forward onto his elbows, he looked at her face, only slightly visible. She gazed back at him with a soft smile. “It would seem you enjoyed it.”
Shyly, she nodded. “I had no idea anything could feel that amazing.”
Nodding, he pulled out, then paused. “Have they taught you in your time how to wash yourself out?”
“What do you mean?”
“You must not get pregnant, so you will need to rinse out your quim.”
Did she not know? She said this was a sexually enhanced society, how could she not? He reached between her legs and stroked her fully. “Your quim.”
“Oh,” she laughed softly. “No worries about that. I’m on the pill.”
Must she speak in riddles? Grunting in displeasure, he stood up and reached out his hand. “What is the pill?” he asked as he pulled her to her feet. The way she winced and rolled her shoulders, he began to massage them. Her arms were above her head for quite some time. He could not help but be pleased that she obeyed him so well.
“Oh yeah, they wouldn’t have had that back then. Well, my mom put me on it when I was sixteen – just in case. Basically it makes it so I cannot get pregnant.”
A pill that made someone infertile? “That is horrible!” he exclaimed in anger. “To take away your choice of having children entirely? What kind of society is this?” He was infuriated that Landria’s own mother had done this to her. She was such a beautiful, caring girl. She would make a wonderful mother. Confused at his own thoughts, he shook his head to rid himself of them.
“No, no!” she cried laughing, grasping onto his arm. “It’s a protection I use until the time I want to get pregnant. Then I stop taking the pill.”
“Oh.” What a strange and wondrous world he found himself in. “Pardon me, Landria. This is all so strange. Your customs, clothing, speech, and now to find out you have pills to make you infertile temporarily…”

18 yr old Landria expects to spend a dull summer at her aunt and uncle’s house. That is until she stumbles upon a dusty, unused library and finds her way into the pages of an erotic novel. Attacked within moments of entering the story, she is rescued by the hero, Lord Nicholas Waring, who intrigues her more than she wishes. Once she finds herself back home she cannot forget him.
