In today’s excerpt from Through the Library Door, Nicholas has crossed through the portal into Landria’s world. While confused at the changes to his library, he does not believe her that he is a character in a novel. She tries to convince him that they are from two different timeframes.
“And what year is it in your world, little Landria?” He looked and sounded so haughty she wanted to smile but felt that would be a bad idea.
With a snort of derision, he raised his left eyebrow at her. “You expect me to believe that?”
Groaning in frustration, she nodded, shaking her flashlight in front of him. “Do you have anything like this in your time?”
He stared at it, seeming to contemplate it. “We have candles.”
She clicked it off, then on. “How about now?”
“That is odd,” he admitted. “But you can snuff out a candle and then relight it. Maybe,” he mused, “you could tell me of things that have happened in my near future, your distant past.”
Grimacing, she shook her head. History was one of her worst subjects. “I was never good at… wait!”

18 yr old Landria expects to spend a dull summer at her aunt and uncle’s house. That is until she stumbles upon a dusty, unused library and finds her way into the pages of an erotic novel. Attacked within moments of entering the story, she is rescued by the hero, Lord Nicholas Waring, who intrigues her more than she wishes. Once she finds herself back home she cannot forget him. When he follows her into her world and they fall in love, will they be forced apart by the words already written or can they rewrite their story?
Through the Library Door is the fourth Library Tale, but it is also the first in The Markham Library series.
Library Tales are tales involving erotica and libraries. Some involve BDSM, some do not. The first three are short stories between 4,000-15,000 words.
The Markham Library series is about a private library belonging to the Markham family. Within this library the heroine or hero of each novella/novel finds her or himself thrust into the storyline of one of the novels it contains.
