Here’s another snippet from Making His Stand, which is released tomorrow. (It’s already live on Amazon and A Thia Thing store.) In this scene, Alec is introducing James to Ye Olde Kinke Faire and its buildings.
The second dungeon was chopped up into smaller spaces. “What are they all for?” Ryan asked as they walked through each room.
There were no signs but from the equipment, Alec could name most of them. “That’s a room for littles. That one’s a school scene. Medical play. Office. Time out.” He chuckled on that one. “Now I get why this dungeon’s called The Playroom. Each room is for a specified kind of play.” The rooms were large enough they could hold several scenes at the same time. “Ah, James, this one might interest you. It’s for pet play.”
The floor was covered with fake grass and there were shelves filled with leashes, collars, and ears of many variations.
“No balls to fetch?” Ryan asked as he looked around.
“Too unsanitary,” Alec assumed. “The Doms will need to bring or buy them at a stand if they want their pet to carry something in their mouth.”
Seeing James’s interest in something, Alec walked over and stood next to him. There was a picture on the wall of a man dressed in breeches and a waistcoat talking to another man dressed in the same kind of clothing. From each of their hands was a leash that led to a human puppy at their sides. Each puppy had a full canine mask and a tail.
“What do you think?” he asked and rubbed lightly along James’s back.
“I want to try it.”
“Good boy.” James leaned into his touch. He wondered if James had ever been acknowledged for anything besides his math skills. No wonder he adored Kendrick and Alec. They always let him know how good he was doing and how much they appreciated him.
“Alec?” Alec and James left the room and followed Ryan’s voice where he stood in a room filled with large firm rubber bubbles. “What’s this for?”
“I have absolutely no idea.”
“They kind of look like those toys kids bounce on,” James said. He grabbed one and turned it around. All three saw the same thing at the same time. Ryan snorted, Alec barked a laugh, and James’s mouth fell open. Each ball had a handle and a cock.
“Talk about a bouncy ball,” Ryan said with a laugh. “Wow. Some subs are going to have fun in here.”
James Kaden-Scott’s method of coping with fear is escape and when his father tries to force him to do something that could kill him, he takes a job on Elan Isle as their accountant. While he knows the town is kinky, he has no idea what that means. Until the day he arrives.
Alec Rowland has been in the BDSM lifestyle for seventeen years and loves it. For the first time in his life, he craves having a sub of his own. From the moment he meets James, he feels a pull toward him. When James asks him to teach him about kink, he’s thrilled.
Between having his eyes opened to the kink world and trying to find his footing on Elan Isle, James finds himself torn between the old him and the new. When his worst fears come calling, history says to run, but for the first time in his life, he has something… someone to fight for. But those fears are strong, and some of them are real. If he makes a misstep, he could lose everything. If that happens, running may be his only recourse.
