Welcome to another My Sexy Saturday. I’m very happy that this week’s theme is paranormal. I had to decide between posting a snippet about vampire-like creatures called drakyl OR a snippet from books where the heroines get sucked into an erotic story and live it.
Well, I decided to go with the books because… who doesn’t want to live their favorite story? Especially with how strong and sexy our favorite heroes tend to be. I give you Seri’s first sighting of Joshuan.
Just being outside felt good. Maybe Jennifer and Peter were right. She spent too much time up in the library.
From the window it looked like a simple jaunt to get to the maze. It actually took her twenty minutes to get to the opening. The sun was beating down hot on her bare shoulders, so she pulled out one of the bottles of water as she began her trek. Being inside the maze was much different than looking down on it. From above, the hedges looked short, maybe four or five feet tall. In reality, they were over eight feet in height and she couldn’t see anything except the greenery and sky. Now she understood how someone could get lost. But knowing they were looking out for her, she trudged on. When she came to her first wall, she looked both ways only seeing hedges going on forever each way before turning right.
Sometimes the walls turned at ninety degree angles, sometimes they curved. So enthralled she was as she came across a statue or a plant of unknown origin, that she never noticed where she went or how much time had passed until the light started to go down. “Oops!” she hissed looking up. She couldn’t see the sun and the shadows were intense. Waving at the castle seemed smart, only she had no idea in which direction the castle was any more. Pulling out the scarf Marka had insisted she carry, she waved it in the air, feeling very stupid.
As her stomach gurgled, she realized she was hungry and was happy for the bag of food that had been foisted upon her. Walking around, she found a statue with a ledge she could sit on. Eating her way through a half dozen cookies and a sandwich, she waved the scarf in the air every few minutes. Until the wind suddenly picked up, grabbed the scarf and took off with it over a hedge.
“No!” she cried out, leaping to her feet. She had no way to find it now. Darting down one of the walkways, she looked for an entrance that would take her to the right. She found none. Darting back, she tried the other way, looking for an entrance left. Again. None. Had the scarf left the maze? “Shit,” she moaned, sitting back down. Now how would she get out?
Grabbing her last bottle of water, she lifted it to her lips and froze. Standing a few feet away in shadow was a man. She had never seen him before and would have thought he was one of the servants, but nobody could ever suspect this man of being a servant. At well over six foot with wide shoulders, he was imposing…even in the shadows. Or maybe that was because he was in shadow.
“Hello?” she said, blushing as her voice broke. “Are you here to help me out?” Even as the last word left her lips, he turned and disappeared. “Wait!” she called, darting after him. As she got to where he was last, there was no opening. In fact as she looked around, it was a dead end. “What…?” she whispered, feeling confused. Had he even been there?
